2025 is coming to a quick close and of all we played this year, I have to narrow down the list of games that took up most of our playtime! These games will range from older titles to newer ones. They will also primarily be directed to Steam Deck/PC and Nintendo Switch 2. So if there is something that has interested you, feel free to click on the hyperlink associated with each title. Now, as for the titles that we dove the deepest into this year, it was quite a varied offering! Some of them have been new contenders for the best games in our library and others are classic staples for me. These will range from remasters, classics to incredible sequels! So join us down below as we dive into our list and hopefully, one of these gems will inspire you!

Hades 2 Demonstrates What Care and Love Does For A Sequel!

If you ever needed a better sequel in all senses of the word, Hades 2 presents this and so much more! While out in Early Access on Steam, I decided to hold off on grabbing it, in the hopes we would have seen a 1.0 release on Switch along side the PC version. As expected, they did indeed announce this intention, repeating their console exclusivity for a period with Nintendo’s Switch. But with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, we not only get a flawless port, but a 120FPS version of the game that just SCREAMS quality and polish. Especially when the Nintendo Switch is an excellent canvas and platform to showcase any caliber of indie game. That being said, Supergiant Games has been a company that has continued to deliver quality without compromise ever since their first release with Bastion.

With Hades 2 comes a bevy of improvements over the first game and a newly tuned experience. With more layered mechanics, like witchcraft, new boon types and melds to the deeper character interactions. The game has proven to be intoxicating and extremely rewarding. So much more above the first entry in the Hades series, as this new entry pushes the creative bar further ahead. Something that I feel Supergiant Games has done impressively well. Be it the refined combat feel to the expansive world that’s ever deeper. Hades 2 took much of the lessons learned with the first games Early Access and development and applied them brilliantly so. I would love to dive deeper, so please look forward to our review of it down the road!

TCG Card Shop Simulator is The Most Relaxing, Pack Cracking Game Around!

Okay, not every game needs to be a highly polished machine or perfection. Every once in a while, there’s a guilty pleasure game that just hits the spot. For us, that game was TCG Card Shop Simulator. Now I know what you might say, “aww one of those half baked games that target a niche category.” Rather it’s a simulator of a prolific hobby that scratches all of the right itches. Want to open packs and chase rare or expensive pulls? Want to sell those graded slabs for profit? You can do that all and much, much more!

As a one man team, the development is a bit in the slower side, but the content updates are always full to the brim. From autopack openers to more varied workers, the outstanding dedication that they have for this game is amazing.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition Showed What’s Possible For Switch 2!

Having graced the hybrid system, Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2 provides a surreal experience! One that, while comparable to the Steam Deck in some form, is still uniquely better in certain senses with the use of DLSS. With this release we also get the much acclaimed DLC, Phantom Liberty, as apart of the bundle. Plus we cannot get over the fact that this little device runs Cyberpunk! To the seamless swapping between handheld and docked, to the deep hours of play, Cyberpunk 2077 is a standout title for Nintendos successor to the beloved Switch and a game that definitely deserves a spot on your shelf or memory card!
