With the Holiday season now in focus there will inevitably come the influx of new, Nintendo Switch 2 owners. With that comes the next question: What do I play? The scope of today’s post will attempt to offer a few of our personal recommendations based on titles that we have played and will be playing shortly! These should make for great pick-ups during the holiday, especially if they get targeted for a nice discount. If not, they will still be very well worth the prices that they are currently at too!
Dave The Diver Invites You To Dive On In!

A classic, but one that shocking received a shadow-dropped Switch 2 update, Dave the Diver tasks you with running a successful Sushi restaurant while tackling the mysteries of the Deep Blue Hole! While on paper a fishing game with restaurant simulation elements might not sound all too appetizing, this is one game that bucks the notion. By day you will take on tasks given to you by parties interested in the mysteries of the Deep Blue Hole. Be that searching for ancient civilizations of mermaids, to tackling the reasons behind various disappearances with ships and cargo alike. The deeper you dive, the deeper the mysteries continue. As you go about your days you will earn money to improve both your kit and your restaurant! Providing you with opportunities to impress special VIP guests to being able to tackle that Tiger Shark that keeps killing you every dive you go on.
The Switch 2 version does bring some needed improvements to the game. Notably it is a much more stable experience, hitting 60FPS and also smoothing out much of the gameplay and load times. The game has also received some free collaboration content, notably between another indie title named Dredge. As well as with the King of Monsters itself, Godzilla! If you need even more sweet collaborative goodness, they have a paid DLC pack that will see Ichiban of Yakuza fame heading to the the Deep blue Hole as Dave is tasked with helping him find what it is he has been looking for here!
Hades II Continues To Teach Us That Ruthlessness is Mercy Upon Ourselves.

The very first Hades took the indie scene by storm and showcased what a powerhouse of a studio, SuperGiant Games can be. Granted, if you were like us and had priorly played both Bastion and Transistor, then this was nothing new to you. Hades however, gave the studio the mainline push that it needed to break into the larger scene. Now, with that unbridled success with the first outing, Hades 2 continues this trend, with the game taking on a more mystical tone as it follows, Melinoë, sister to the first game protagonist, Zagreus. This time themes story centers around her pursuit to defeat the titan of time, Chronos.
The game keeps in touch with what made the first one so enjoyable and memorable. With its own cast of colorful characters pulled out of the pages of Greek mythology. Hades tends to present a darker story, while keeping the elements of gameplay intact from the first entry. Granted there has been improvements to the overall combat flow, with new magic systems and weapons types. Bosses feel more varied and interesting as well. With the Nintendo Switch 2 version, you will get a docked 120FPS mode at 1080p and when in handheld a solid 1080p at 60FPS. Which, to see on a Switch 2 is always a wild treat, but for those of you who feel the need to rank every game based on FPS alone, this one should at least tickle that fancy. The game will be receiving a physical release come November 20th, 2025.
Cult of the Lamb is Still a Catchy Game With Furry Friends!

While this is one of the only titles on our list that is without a dedicated Switch 2 version, the base game does seem to benefit from the better hardware. If you are unfamiliar with this indie hit from a few years back, Cult of The Lamb sees you taking control of the last lamb who is tasked by The One Who Waits to destroy their demonic rivals. To achieve this you will take a rouge like approach to the various dungeons and when you aren’t attempting to quell your dark lord’s rivals, you are also working towards building up your very own cult! By wrangling various forest critters, you too can start a successful cult! But with a cult comes responsibility and this game will have you working to satisfy the basic needs of comfort for your adoring members. Give them better beds, better food and they will in turn devote themselves unto you.
If that isn’t your cup of tea, you could feed them bowls of questionable slop or lock them in a pillory for whatever reason you have. Then you can sacrifice them for power and growth, although they may not reward you with as much growth as a well tended flock might yield. With animal husbandry on the horizon for new DLC, the game continues to see growth year after year. From its amazing Co-op mode to the small adjustments made in how the game operates. Cult of the Lamb is bound to be a delightful addition to your indie library! Here’s hoping we are going to receive a Switch 2 update for next year as well to bring this version more in parity to the PC release.
