With 2024 clearly in the rear view mirror, it’s time to take a stand and deliver unto you my top shoes and a little blurb about why they made such fantastic additions to my 2024. A few of the, have already been mentioned, but some I have yet had the privilege to touch on. All of the shows will be available for streaming via a variety of outlets, but mostly being between HiDive and Crunchyroll.

Freiren Gave Showed How The Heroes Story Can Be More Than Just Actions.

Frieren was a show unlike any other this season. From its deep portrayal of what fear embodies, to the simplistic day to day events of life. Learning to grow beyond what defines us and what guides us, this show had a lot to offer. From its incredible character writing to the deeply emotional first few episodes. Frieren Beyond Journeys End is undoubtedly the best show to arrive in our sphere of influence and can be enjoyed fully on Crunchyroll!

Delicious in Dungeon Gave Us Studio Trigger At Their Finest and a Lively Show of Characters On The Spectrum.

If there ever was a show about characters on the spectrum, this would be the banner child. Yet, beyond the memes and the silly references, this Studio TRIGGER adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon was a showstopper. From its playful tendencies to relate back to D&D and its cooking mama fueled mania, the show gives us the warm fuzzies each time we got to watch it. Being a Netflix exclusive for streaming rights, may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but let me tell you, you are missing out on the best comical show to have graced our screens in a long while.

aside from the laughs there’s a bigger question that the series asks. How far would you go to save someone you cared deeply for?

Apothecary Diaries is An Enchanting Experience to Discover!

If like me, you enjoy a good historical setting such as ancient China and a bit of a mystery, then Apothecary Diaries was the show for you! Following Mao-Mao as she navigated the difficult day to day life inside the walls of the Forbidden City, the unraveling story of the series unfolds into something devious. From poisoning plots to strange ghosts, this series tackles detective sleuthing like a champ, while sprinkling layers of interconnected plots that add up to something greater.

The first season can be enjoyed, in full, on Crunchyroll and the first Episode of the second season just started streaming on January 10th!

How I Attended An All-Guys Mixer is The Romance Anime I Didn’t Know I Was Missing!

Where to start with this superb show! While an unorthodox approach to the romantic-slice of life, How I Attended an All-Guys Mixer is a wonderful story about three guys meeting up with the “female” dates only to discover they are men! Well, more like drag kings! This playful show delicately explores a relationship between three characters and their struggles to understand and ultimately accept their ruggedly handsome, femme-fatales. While it’s 12 episode run leaves me begging for more as the character writing is honestly superb, the pure comedy from each of the three men is just enjoyable.

this delightful anime can be enjoyed over on HiDive! I implore anyone who enjoys this genre to really give this show a shot. It really came out of left field for me and I am so happy I have it shot.
