Welcome back to another feature! Today we have the great honor of getting to add to our showcase with the talented, AriesFaries! They are an Australian based Vtuber who exudes charm and wit with their energetic livestreams and their characters unique personality. In fact getting to watch them play Yakuza Kiwami 2 has been a genuine treat and a reminder that I still need to play that game! I hope you all can take some joy from this interview as we dive into it below!

1.) First off thank you for taking the time to reach out to us! Could you start off by telling us a bit about your VTuber and who they are? Because they are insanely adorable! Was there a design inspiration behind them?

Hi!!! My name is AriesFaries and an Australian indie variety streamer & V-idol (Virtual idol). You can find me streaming weekly on Twitch or catch me performing at conventions.

For the design I wanted a model that really represented my personality. I also wanted my model to look super friendly and welcoming for the community I would build, and I felt being a  pink maid cat really captured that.

2.)Wow! Okay, so with that all in mind, has their been a general inspiration or gratification that comes with streaming a VTuber over say more traditional methods? I understand privacy being of key concern here, of course.

You nailed it with privacy – and I’d say that’s one of the main reasons I went into vtubing was staying anonymous. I also feel vtubing allows so many different creative outlets that don’t really exist with regular streaming!

For streaming I just love being able to make someone’s day. Interacting with my community feels like having your own mini talk show which feels so cool.

Being a V-idol performer is another aspect I love about vtubing and being able to bring performances on the virtual stage. Hololive concerts are a huge inspiration and it’s been my mission to attempt to produce concerts like theirs (with the added challenge rating of doing it on my limited shoe string budget haha). I do both singing and dancing in my concerts with the dancing being tracked to my real life dance movements. I’ve been really blessed to be able to perform at so many conventions and want to work even harder to get closer to my dream of producing the concert quality I’m going for.

Another aspect I love about vtubing is the art, while I can’t do very good art myself, I drew my logo and some emotes which I’m super proud of.

You can find my previous vtuber performances archive here: https://www.youtube.com/@ariesfaries

3.)Was there ever a time you felt that, maybe this wasn’t for you or has their been times or interactions that showed you how important Vtubing can be to others or even yourself?

In my very early streaming days, sometimes you got some of those uncomfortable twitch messages or spam messages that would make me a bit stressed. Especially when starting streaming, being unfamiliar with twitch controls on how to moderate your own chat.  But besides that I’ve been lucky to say that there have not been any major turn offs for me in vtubing.

As for interactions that showed you how important Vtubing can be to me and others. I love my community so much! The art, the memes, the chatter on twitch and the discord. These interactions make me feel so proud of the amazing people who support me and make up my community and is the reason why I keep going back to stream again and again. If you believe in me, I want to show that I am worthy of it, I’ll do my very best.

4.)As far as the content you choose to stream, are you focusing on games you personally enjoy or titles that might fit narratively into something that your VTuber might also enjoy? I did see you are also a tarot reader and as one myself I find that incredibly amazing! What got you into doing those if I might ask? (If this is too personal please feel free to ignore this aspect of the question.)

Honestly I just play whatever I kinda feel like haha! I do have a bias for solo player story-focused games. I am also horrible at any horror and 2D platformers so I tend to avoid those. I also make an effort to stream Indie games on Thursdays as want to help give the exposure I can.

When I first started streaming, I wanted to go for this tarot cafe concept which is why I did tarot readings, I also thought these were a good conversation starter as I was very nervous on early streams so it would give me something to talk about. Hilariously my concept from tarot cafe has over the years shifted to “the bakery around the back attached to the cafe”. So while you’ll see the mention of tarot, there is now a lot more  bread references and bread jokes (My community even made an official AriesFaries Bread Flag, and yes this exists at the merch store).

5.)Have you had a chance or opportunity to work on a project that you’ve never had the chance too or maybe there’s a Vtuber that you would love to work with in the future?

I’d love to get invited to some of the bigger V-idol concert collabs one day. Of course I’m a little embarrassed to mention from who. The plan right now is I’ll keep tinkering in my corner until I can perfect my craft. I want to make sure I’m a vtuber people actually want to work with first. Flipping the script, I feel it’s important to have something to offer first before collabing and I definitely feel I’m in my early crafting & testing phase.

6.)If you had to sell our viewers on a game or anime to enjoy what would that be?

I’m playing the Yakuza series now and you should play it! There is this nice contrast between how funny Kiryu the main character is on sidequests to the seriousness of the storylines. I highly recommend the series. I’ve played Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 1 and am currently playing Yakuza Kiwami 2 now. I’m also playing Persona 5 Royal now which I’m enjoying but the themes are pretty heavy.

7.)Thank you again, lastly I ask that you share how we can follow you and if you have anything upcoming that we should keep an eye on? Thank you again for working with us on this!

I hope to be dropping an original song single for 2026 as part of my V-idol journey. I’ll be updating my socials with announcements closer to the date. A few model upgrades are also in the works.
