Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, as Masterful Port by a Masterful Studio!
The long awaited port of the last long awaited WiiU port, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is a remaster that defines what the Switch is capable of. Then again it should come to no one’s surprise that Monolith Soft succeeds where many others have fumbled and failed. Their masterful touch and understanding of the system speaks volumes to their design team and philosophy, but what about the game? Thankfully, the game remains true to its WiiU experience! By gracefully uplifting the textures, draw distance and models, XBCXDE stands as a triumphant salute to the last exclusive Switch release we will see from a first party release.
As for what it adds, there’s a bit! From a tweaked menu and simplification of controls, due to losing out on the gamepad screen. XBCXDE provides us with new character options for style and a brand new story line that offers some juicy lore for those of us infatuated by the narrative work that’s been put into the entire series. While I won’t spoil anything here, this game now completes the offering of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Switch hardware. Plus, with 32 multiplayer being an option, it’s fun to see a game like this getting a second chance on much more available and appreciated hardware.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a touching sequel to a profoundly beautiful game.
If you are ever in the mood to just mellow out with lo-fi vibes and coffee as your comforts, then Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly continues the cozy tradition. Following in the footsteps of the first game, we see a return to our favorite coffee shop and its familiar characters from the first game, with some new additions! To a Banshee seeking acceptance to digging deeper on what it means to be human.
I often find that I enjoy this game when life hits me with a curveball. It forces me to sit down, dig deep and really think about the characters struggles and interactions. From navigating love, to understanding compromise. This game series is more than it seems at first glance and that’s what makes it truly, transformative in nature. The fact that your character is personified in a grey zone, dictated by only your own outward projection also can add to this games narrative. Choosing a drink to serve is often a choice in of itself and one that forces you to learn your customers wants and needs.

Inzoi challenges the Sims long domination by confronting its stagnation.
Okay, this one was a relatively new addition. Having always enjoyed the Sims, I long hated how it’s become a stagnant mess of DLC releases and a permanent fixture on decades old software. Inzoi by Krafton seeks to change that with their delivered entry. While it is an early access title on Steam, it offers a sincere option to those of you feeling stuck. Its character creation has given crafters new tools and its expansive cities how seamless integration that appeals to fans of older Sims titles. For me it really scratches an itch for something similar but completely different.
I was excited for this release purely based on the fact that the developers are not afraid of feedback and of catering to delivering a game that exceeds those requests. It’s hard for me to say that I can recommend jumping into a game like this, especially with how early access is usually viewed. That being said, there’s a lot of meat on this bone. One that continues to grow and expand every week.
