Wanting to start fresh in a new medium, we have decided to start talking about manga! To start off this new segment, we wish to share with you our recently acquired issues and hopefully persuade you into looking to grab them up yourself! We personally hope to offer some form of review or impression of the series we are on as we go. They may be hit or miss as a result! We will also attempt to provide proper avenues of purchase for anyone who may be interested! So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Don’t Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro! Vol 18

Okay, I know there’s some mixed baggage with this series. Having been apart of egirl meme culture, but I adore the series and the show. Much like how My Dress-up Darling tackles the differences between Gojo and Marin, Nagatoro does the same with its characters. However that being said, Nagatoro is a persistent character in how she interacts with the person she likes. Toying with them as a cat would a bird or a mouse. She’s entirely in control of the situation and she knows it.

Delicious in Dungeon Vol 1

Little needs to be said about this prolific series, but gosh dang it! My local Barnes and Noble finally had a restock of the first volume for this series! Having enjoyed the stellar adaption of the manga by Studio TRIGGER on Netflix, I am eager to jump into the series and see what exactly is different or if the show has remained faithful! That being said, this is a completed series and as such, all 14 volumes are available for purchase. You can also find it available in a comprehensive boxed set, however pricing on that varies from 150-220USD! Now to detail on having the anime narrator, Todd Haberkorn, signing my volume 1 copy or not…

Frieren: Beyond Journeys End Vol 1

Much like the restock on Delicious in Dungeon, Frieren: Beyond Journeys End was also apart of my local stores re-order! This has been a series that I have already enjoyed on the VIZ Media app for epub, but there is just something more enjoyable about having it accessible on hand. Being able to feel the pages and experience the weight of words as you embark on a journey unlike any other. I do still have a more in-depth write up coming soon covering Frieren as it’s a series that has so much to say on subject matters pertaining to life, memory and understanding.

  1. I have a hard time finding new manga to read, so I will keep these in mind. Don’t Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro has been on my radar for a bit as something I’d like to check out.

  2. All three looks interesting. I heard Delicious in a Dungeon was good and so was the anime in Netflix. I was thinking about checking out Nagatoro since it reminds me of other slice of life stories.

    1. Delicious in Dungeon is phenomenal. The anime adaptation was done by Studio TRIGGER.

I’m also biased towards Nagatoro. It’s really well done!

      1. Studio Trigger? Say no more! I’ll have to make time for this anime.

I might have to expand my manga collection for Nagatoro lol.
