Kill la Kill Proves it Can Stand The Test of Time

Back when I first got into blogging I had just gotten started with my lasting, Kill la Kill obsession. To put it delicately, it is the one of the only anime that I can consistently stomach. While surely a niche anime for most, due to the over zealous use of panty-shots, insane outfits and over-the-top nature of the show. It is a show that holds a dear place in my heart. It is a show that got me into anime and showed me the majesty of the industry. Now it has come full circle and is coming back to our screens in force. This time as a fighting game.

Out of all the Studio TRIGGER produced content, one would be apt to assume that a potential game (outside of Namco’s Little Witch Academia game) would be along the lines of the insanely popular, DARLING in THE FRANXX. Alas, the faithful have rejoiced in seeing that partner Arc Systems is brining us back to the zany world of Kill la Kill. This upcoming game has the potential to bring in more curious individuals towards the beloved show and might even spread some good faith towards a potential season 2. Pure speculation on my behalf, but still a curious thought indeed.

The anime originally aired on October 3rd, 2013 and finished its broadcast run on March 28th, 2014. It was met with favorable reception, albeit also to some negative reception due to the portrayal of mostly naked women duking it out in skimpy clothing; fan-service for the win? Still the show brought forth a massive cast of strong female leads and paved the way for future Studio TRIGGER successes. I am excited to see that Arc Systems seeks to maintain a similar art style with this Kill la Kill The Game release.

Curious to know if any of you ever watched the anime in its original run. Where you blown away? Underwhelmed even? Leave me a comment down below and consider clicking on one of the links down below. It would mean a whole lot to me! I can say right now I do plan on reviewing this title when it launches, sometime next year.

  2. When I first met you, I remembered you love Kill la Kill. After seeing this news, I think I felt your excitement to this game. This game looks so amazing as if I am watching the anime. I really like how Arc Systems Work does anime games like Dragon Ball FighterZ.

  3. Kill la Kill reminds me of that fantastic spring where I binged it all for the first time and absolutely fell in love. Also, it brings to mind all the great conversations I’ve had with you! Hopefully this game turns out to be another fun ride, and that maybe it’ll help rekindle that anime burn you’ve been feeling lately!
