OGZ Update: Smart Doll’s and Naka-Kon 2018!

Phew, I have been one busy beaver with photography work, video work and mental preparation for my favorite convention of the year. To start us off I’ll be going backwards by starting with Naka-Kon 2018. This convention is shaping up to be my busiest yet as I will actually have some dedicated photo shoots to work with and I am thrilled. Sure I am also petrified by the prospect of looking like a complete fool, but I appreciate and accept the challenge. This presents a bigger stage for me to feature my work and grow as a photographer.

As far as the coverage aspect goes, I will be attending a couple of panels and events I expect the coverage to turn out as it usually does, but with hopefully better results than previous attempts. I am running like a chicken trying to get things figured out and planned for the convention that I almost feel like screaming sometimes. On the subject of wether or not I will be bringing my Smart Doll with me, it is sitting at a big nope currently. Not because I am self-conscious, but rather I just don’t want anything to happen to her while I am out and about.

Now onto Smart Doll land! First off, thank you so, so much for all the support and love! It has been immense and I was honestly expecting to opposite of what I have been receiving in terms of support. I have had a couple offers from people who wanted to make outfits for Ota Kamiya and I have had praise for the photography work. It is both inspiring and encouraging for me to continue doing what I am doing. So far I have done an unboxing video, which you can watch down below.

Other than the unboxing video, which is growing quickly in views, I have also done a small video to relate back to our post on my one week with Danny Choo’s Smart Doll. The learning curve is immense, but equally fun. I have learned so much about the BJD community and it is a point of pride for me as of late. I don’t worry about the preconceived ideas that some have about the product as I am enjoying the boon it has given towards my photography work. I am also running another funding goal! This one is not as big, but it is helpful. I need some help in getting a few key outfits made and put together for her debut school girl uniform! So please consider visiting my Ko-Fi page and donating! It means the world to me and helps more than anyone realizes! ^w^v

That will do it for our update post! I hope to run into other familiar faces while at Naka-Kon 2018 and to also meet new ones. I have so much in terms of expectation for this convention that I almost feel dizzy thinking about all the fun I will have.

  1. The smart dolls look pretty. It’s cool you can use it for cosplaying.

    1. Yup, yup! She’s a cutie and flexible to whatever I want to do.

      1. That’s cool. I bet this is why they are pretty expensive. They are made with fine material.

      5. Oh okay. Lol just like real girls, you gotta be there to take care of her. Treat her some clothes. At least they’re not asking for jewelry.
