What 2017 Meant For Otaku Gamer Zone: Photography

In keeping with a #blogmas theme, I figured I would try to keep up with the spirit of the season. What 2017 meant for Otaku Gamer Zone was a lot of things, one of them being photography. Okay, okay I have rambled on a lot about it, but seriously it is a massive turning point. This year was the year I got back into it all, I dipped my toes in to the proverbial pool of cosplay photography. It was cold at first, but it was a swim that has taken me over into the deep end and I wish to venture further.

Photography is equal parts difficult as it is captivating. It is an artistic medium that is widely overlooked, due to its ease of accessibility thanks to modern phones. It is however one that when done correctly, can stun and amaze. I’ve gotten the opportunity to shoot amazing cosplays this year as well as to work with a few big names. Sure it is nothing special, but for myself it is a massive honor. This new door, this new escape allowed me to pursue creative avenues that I never thought possible until only recently. It is also a freelance job that I enjoy and hope to actually start making a living off what I do for fun.

Outside of photography being an impressive aspect of my 2017 year, it isn’t the only aspect of appreciation, videos have been an important part to Otaku Gamer Zone and my camera has opened the window to that brave new world too. All I can say is that if it weren’t for my first camera purchase, I would not have had the chances I have had so far. Working with Angela from Kiss Kiss Cosplay will always be a massive positive for my 2017 year and that is no understatement on my part. She is massively crafty and is one heck of an amazing individual. I highly encourage you all support her on her official Instagram.
