~I got a short one to finish off September with you all! I just wanted to start this off by saying thank you for all the support and follows! You all helped to make September one of the best on record for Otaku Gamer Zone! You All rock! ~
Riding off of the information that Miles had posted on Twitter this time yesterday afternoon, the anime industry as a whole was up six times the amount it was in 2014, with 2015 having a massive impact for revenue with much of it coming from international sales; which I also imagine takes into account the licensing costs for streaming contracts. While I do not have full access to the information that Miles does I do know how far anime subscriptions can go in helping drive these numbers up. For those of you who haven’t read our older article in regards to why I support legal streaming; please go and check that out first. Now for those who doubt that their subscription matters just let that figure sink in. Six times the amount they had earned from last year almost entirely came from online based revenue. That’s an insane amount of revenue that is coming in for a supposedly dying industry; this is not taking into account the declining presence of interested artists and creators.
What we happen to face in the industry today is a plethora of individuals who happen to use less than legal means to secure their anime streaming. I even know fellow bloggers who happen to use such services. While it personally bothers me there is nothing more than I can do other than promote using services like Crunchyroll, Funimation and Viewster for streaming your anime legally with a free membership level; granted you have to put up with a few advertisements. Now those advertisements also help pay for the licensing and as such are wonderful ways to help streaming site maintain a free membership. It is a small price to pay for being able to legally stream your favorite anime titles. Now I already did talk in-depth about this as I mentioned it above, so I will do my best to avoid discussing the matter further; simply because I know that you all don’t want to have to sit through another laborious conversation. I will possibly explore this in further detail in the coming month of October.
If you are interested in better you’re streaming etiquette by looking into more legal methods that do go a long way in helping the anime industry please, please consider using the hyperlink to the affiliated sign-up pages. This is not just me saying this since I also happen to work for Viewster. This is me saying this as a person and a fan that understands that a little bit of international support can go a long way in helping an industry that we all very much love and if it is legal, then it is better.
