JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has become a personal favorite: Here’s why!

Dazzling fights, delightful humor and such awesome character personalities are what fills my mind when I first think about the anime and manga that is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. This is a series that at first may seem random and downright odd, but then it becomes something else entirely. This series is wildly fun and beautifully constructed! I cannot count how many times I have watched the episodes for part four Diamond is Unbreakable. Too many times is all I can say. With that being said, why is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure such a thrilling and fun anime/manga series? It all has to do with content, character and pull. The world that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure inhabits is one full of macho men that fight off the dark forces that are vampires and men who fight with the power of spirit like Stands. When I first watched the first season of this anime, I was interested in how the concept of vampires was used and the only force capable of combating it was literally, pure light called Hamon. It was so wildly drawn and the clever use of comic/manga sound effect notations is just phenomenal.

The characters of each season or part are the shining stars, specifically Joestar’s, of the series and are outstanding at that. From the first Joestar to the latest (in terms of the anime release) each one has been unique in their quirks and personality and the various enemies that the Joestar family faces through the ages and dimensions are just as amazingly unique. The voice actors provide outstanding performances and give a breath of life to these otherwise stagnant 2d drawings. I would argue on the grounds that this anime has some of the best written dialogue and voice work in an anime to date. It is like how I use the English dub of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood as the golden standard when it comes to English anime voice work; the same can be said and used for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. The voice actor that brings to life the dastardly evil man Dio Brando is pure genius and equal parts talented. Our hat is off to you Takehito Koyasu as I feel safe in saying that no one could ever best your role as Dio Brando. Outside of the voice work is the excellent storytelling that brings the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to life.

The characters are so dynamic in personality that the diversity pool with each part continues to grow and impress. This is very prevalent in the latest game for the series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven. Being able to see all characters from part 1 to part 8 interact with one another shows you the pure madness and brilliance of series creator Hirohiko Araki. The man is talented with both writing and bringing to life the wacky and wild world of this manga/anime.

It’s his ability to craft a narrative that is so compelling and engaging that makes this series a shining star. The story is not overly complicated with loopholes or missing plot points which in return makes the series very easy to grab onto. What’s even better, from the anime’s standpoint, is that you don’t really need to have seen the other parts to get the point. Granted this will heavily differ between the individuals that are engaged with it, but for most the actual parts do a good job with making sure to throw in perspective and information based on the prior part(s). Granted I have yet to pick up the manga (which is something I plan on remedying very soon!) which has been on my list for the longest of times. I love the simple fact that this is a manga that comes in a hardcover as a standard option. It just adds so much more beauty to the overall series that you often do not find in just a simple manga.

If you plan on adding this series to both your manga, anime and video game collection, I highly encourage you to do so. It’s so beautifully crafted and with a little bit of time it will become a sure fire favorite. Granted my opinions are my own and I don’t speak for the wider public. The anime can be very bizarre and it may take a period or two for someone to be fully invested or interested in the series. I know for myself it took me over two years to finally feel comfortable with the series. For others the period it took has been shorter. I personally blame my busy anime viewing schedule and such. If you have seen the series feel free to let us know how you feel about it down below! Welcome to hearing both the good and bad! IF you haven’t been pulled in by the series feel free to leave your opinion as well!

Also Dio Brando if life and the coolest man to ever grace the planet. What? You thought Kausus was writting this article? Nope! It was me the whole time! DIO!
