Omakase Naruto Shippuden Box Review

A long over due review but still highly current! This is Kausus and today we are going to be taking a look at one of the most highly sought after Omakase boxes to date! If you all have not heard or seen Omakase, allow me to fill in the blanks for you all. Omakase is a boxed service that caters to the best of anime fans. Not wanting to be like the rest, Viewster has set out with the goal of providing some of the most exclusive items to date for Omakase and for it’s fan base! Having launched with the hotly anticipated Kill la Kill box, the Naruto Shippuden box follows a successful trend in providing first class anime merchandising and exclusivity like nothing before it. They also provide you with ad-free HD streaming on their main website as well as exclusive digital content, i.e. comics and music! The pricing starts at 29USD+Shipping costs in a bi-monthly fashion. Now let us get to the heart of this review, the actual contents of the box itself!

The Beautiful Kiri-I mean, the beautiful Omakase box!

In typical fashion we will receive the now iconic blue Omakase box. To me the box itself is half the fun and excitement! I love seeing this tiny, little blue box sitting on my doorstep, just begging to be opened. It is so in-grossing and so simplistic that it screams to me. The box itself is actually smaller in size compared to the Kill La Kill launch box; whether or not this is due to a lack of a giant towel remains to be seen but it is interesting to see a smaller box this time around. Then again this is just the critic in me and the fan screaming awesome! Now the content of the box is laid out in pretty much the same fashion that we are used to from the first entry box, minus a lot of packing paper. This time we are greeted with one long sheet and the wonderful Omakase menu card, this time around sporting a very awesome Naruto themed front. On the back we get a laid out list of what to expect inside the box! Warning! Do not look at this image for too long if you do not wish to spoil the rest of the article!

Past the card we are greeted with the first item, an exclusive Hinata & Naruto poster. While not much to speak or write about a poster, it is a very awesome image that is personalized just for us Omakase subscribers and does sport a very nice Omakase logo down in the bottom, right hand corner. This is something that is new to this box, the inclusion of an Omakase Logo on each item that is generally an Omakase Exclusive. They want you and everyone to know where you got that item from and in essence, it is a badge of honor really. Getting to say, “Yeah, this item was only ever made for this box.” Then watching as your friends and/or family cringe and cry, realizing that they missed out on the chance to own some pretty sweet gear. Behind the poster we are given access to all the contents of the box itself. One of the bigger items, besides the poster, is the Gaara plush. While not an exclusive item it is still a super nice touch to have when sending these boxes out. Now, I love plushies. I do not care what they are or who they are, I love them all the same. A bit odd for a grown male to be saying that but… You will all live, trust me. The plush is made of the same material that pretty much graces every other one out there.

Below the plush we are greeted with two more items. One Exclusive sticker and one non-exclusive key chain. The sticker is of the Allied Shinobi Forces Headband and will make for a great decorative touch to your Naruto wall or maybe to use to cover up your old village affiliation? I am sure many will find a use for it, I know for myself it will go on my cork-board of random stuff I like. Even so, it is still a nice little exclusive. The Key Chain features an older fan favorite, Deidara, and it is made of the same poly-carbonate material that you see on just about every single other key chain on the market. While not an exclusive I have not seen one of this quality in the free market before. It makes me wonder if this is a brand new key chain that will eventually be sold or if it is one that just literally came out. In any event the charm will make for a nice companion to feature on our Naka-Kon badge as we prowl the convention floor this coming March.

Kirisaki is feeling very photogenic today.

The last two items that make the rounds are the two most sought after ones. The Gold Naruto Mininja and the never before released, Sasuke Uchiha figure from Toynami’s long dead Naruto Shippuden series 2 line. The first figure, the gold Naruto is made sturdy and will frankly standout on your desk. While I only have two comparable size nendoroids, the figure is not pose able but will stand forever vigilant, guarding your precious stuff or eating ramen. More than likely eating ramen… While I am not a personal fan of the gold tone, it still makes for a sweet collectible to keep among my collection. Besides the figure, the box it comes in once again sports a nice Omakase logo as well as a Toynami logo. Now for the big-kahuna, the never before released, Sasuke figure with over 25 points of articulation. This is a hot ticket item that many fans clamored for when they first announced it. While nothing special to me, unreleased figures tend to stir the pot in the figure market and this one is no joke either. Made of what I would assume to be sturdy material (Hasn’t actually opened the box, is a bit torn on whether or not to open or leave forever factory sealed) it will surely hold up to the everyday posing. Just don’t expect your kid to be very nice with it during play time. In which case I would ask why you are letting your child play with such a rare figure? Never mind, not my place to judge! The figure itself while small is still a nice touch in an ever increasingly amazing box.

While I may not be the biggest Naruto fan personally, I still enjoyed this box. I watched enough of it to appreciate the series and recognize all the characters, I still feel that someone who was invested in the series may have felt more stunned with the box! Not saying I wasn’t wowed and giddy as all hell, just that if I were a bigger fan it would have more of a front row parking. Did you pick up the latest Omakase box? 2. I would like to announce to the world that I am one big Naruto fan! >_< I have been one since 4th Grade. Lol I would die not having this one awesome box so I am actually going to die. Haha. Because I'm in Phil and I know shipping and custom fee would cost more than the actual price of the box. QT____T

      3. From a very biased point of view of a fan, it’s great indeed. Haha. Aside from all the action, I also like the morals presented along the plot. It had made me cry many times. Lol

      4. I agree, besides the epic fights, Naruto does have a lot of content you can dissect. It talks about war and friendship. I did shed some tears in some moments.

      6. Don’t worry, you are not alone. It’s okay to feel emotional. That just means you really love an anime πŸ™‚

      8. True you got a point. It’s better to let out your emotions than contain them. It’s okay to cry and let it out πŸ™‚

      15. Naruto was a childhood favorite of mine but I left it after the fight between Naruto and Orochimaru in Shippuden…. Not the bets Naruto fan but this box has brought back a bit of a longing to see the rest of the series through.

      16. That’s pretty cool. I remember that moment in Shippuden. That was epic of Naruto during the fight. I think I read more of the manga than anime.

  3. I finished the manga first than the anime. Lol. I already forgot what episode I left off the animation. >_<
