Alright ladies, gentlemen, robits, cats, dogs and everything in between! Today we are going to be talking about a game in the amazing series that is Persona. This games spans just about every console now and a fifth one is on the way. So, I figured we would take a look at my personal favorite, Persona 3 FES. Persona 3 FES was released on the PS2 on April 22nd 2008 and is regarded in some circles to be the best Persona game out there, however for me Persona 4 is a close first as well. This game is a dungeon crawler/high school student simulator all bundled into one game. You get traditional J-rpg elements and leveling up but with the fun goal of balancing high school life and dungeon crawling all into one game. Not to mention the cut-scenes are explained through beautiful anime videos. The english voice acting is also not half bad with some heavy hitters like Liam O’Brien and Vic Mignogna.
Now as I said, one part of this game is balancing a normal high school life. Building friendships (Which contribute to your social links for developing Persona’s) and increasing your characters base stats. You can work part time, go to arcades, sing karaoke or just go to your dorm room and study. Then you have the Dungeon crawling side within the massive lair that is Tartarus. Here your persona’s power and your own will be tested as you battle shadows and fight your way through the various levels of the structure as you progress through the game itself. The game is very challenging and will provide any experienced player a run for their money (or not). With a whole year of in game time to fiddle around with and several influencing factors that help drive you towards the ending of the game. Least to say, you will have to play through this multiple times to experience everything that this game has to offer you, the player.
A bit of a shorter run today, as I also have been busy with work and taking the process of dissecting a new games console that I just received this last Thursday and will hopefully have some videos posted up on my YouTube channel, as well as an article or two on my website here! I apologize for the lack of energy in this post but rest assured, I will hopefully be able to push out some more content soon!
